quake

turning face from slumbering point, i wake to a moistened air.

sounds are low all around except for your breath on my hair.

still half asleep, i keep my eyes closed as nighttime turns into day,

and relish the moments, stolen to night willing the whole world away.

grabbing on to thunderous feels of open meandering  seas ,

drawing you near, reaching for peaks of headily scented breeze.

onward i move against the grain with a partnering hold on time,

forward to waves of glorious dawn holding your hand in mine.

pressure mounts and then we are there, quaking and shifting as one,

open eyes then, to see that indeed  a new day has begun.
